On February 12, 2025, students from the WasserFarm project school Louisenlund presented their project “Mint in a Hydroponic System: Using Schlei Water for Sustainable Agriculture” at the regional “Jugend Forscht” competition.
The project demonstrates how Schlei (narrow inlet of the Baltic Sea) water can be utilized as a nutrient source in hydroponic systems—an innovative approach to resource-efficient and sustainable plant cultivation. The jury was impressed by the convincing research findings, earning the students 3rd place in the Biology category—a well-deserved success for the team’s dedicated work and scientifically sound approach.
